This Land

Not knowing what we were getting into, we have taken on the task of finding something wonderful and unique in all fifty states. There are so many hidden gems made right here in America! These cottage industries do not use sweatshops, illegal labor, tropical hardwoods, or huge amounts of fossil fuels in transportation.
We have tried to find as many as we can that use sustainable practices and non toxic alternatives.
Most of all we sought out handmade pieces that were created with attention to detail and the spirit of the state they were created in.

If there is someone (including yourself) you would like to see showcased in "This Land" drop us an email at info@hyggeinteriors.com Be sure to let us know the state and contact info for the company or craftsman.

NEW YORK

Tyler Hays is a painter sculptor and incredible furniture maker. His company
BDDW produces heirloom quality handmade furniture with smooth modern lines and old world heft. All pieces are made in Brooklyn of domestic hardwoods and finished with natural oils and lacquers. Cracks, rings, bark and other "imperfections" are often retained and highlighted leaving a stunning piece of furniture that tells a story of its origins.
